Schidam Interior Design is a statement of theatrical opulence and refined elegance, merging contemporary sophistication with classical European glamour. Conceived for a private client with a passion for art, history, and luxurious living, this interior design project celebrates boldness, drama, and detail across every surface, object, and architectural line.

From the very first moment, the space captivates with its high ceilings and mirror-clad walls that double the room’s grandeur, creating the illusion of infinite space and depth. Crystal chandeliers suspended above enhance the sense of luxury, dispersing golden reflections across dark marble floors that anchor the design with both gravity and sophistication. The flooring—rich in veining and high in polish—becomes the stage on which every design element performs.

The chromatic palette is deliberately rich: charcoal walls trimmed with gold framing, royal blue backlit display niches, and jewel-toned textiles create a visual dialogue between light and shadow, past and present. Refined classical molding coexists harmoniously with modern lighting and clean lines, resulting in a space that feels simultaneously timeless and current.

Furniture selection was a meticulous process. Each piece was chosen to harmonize with the owner’s curated collection of art and antiques—ranging from embroidered pillows with mythological motifs to hand-painted wardrobes and bronze sculptures. Plush, sculptural seating in vibrant tones is arranged for both comfort and aesthetic coherence, while glass coffee tables expose the rich layers of carpets and books beneath them.

One of the project’s defining features is its reverence for craftsmanship. From the ornate detailing of the display cabinet moldings to the custom-finished paneling with bronze and velvet accents, every material was selected for its texture, story, and tactile quality. The apartment doesn’t just house objects—it frames them, gives them reverence, and places them in a cohesive visual narrative.

Lighting plays a major role in enhancing the atmosphere. Daylight floods through tall windows dressed in translucent drapery, while ambient light glows from wall sconces, chandeliers, and custom-designed indirect lighting integrated in the furniture.

Schidam Interior Design is more than a luxury apartment—it is a curatorial experience that fuses design with emotion, memory with materiality. It is a home that inspires contemplation, conversation, and admiration, inviting its inhabitants to live surrounded by art, elegance, and meaning.
