CONCEPT:
The Accord Metropolitan Hotel, Chennai is a flagship hotel for the prestigious international hotel chain – the Accord Metropolitan group based in Hong Kong. Situated at T-Nagar a prominent commercial Zone in the city of Chennai on the well known GN chetty road the 5 star hotel proves to be a very successful business class hotel as the result of thorough contextual market study.

It is set in a serene, arboreal locale in the heart of the commercial hub of the city, just 12 km from the airport, with entertainment and shopping avenues in proximity.

The design evolves based on the facility requirement carefully utilising maximum urban vistas around it so as to consciously create a feeling of blending with the cityscape & facade treatment that would blend in with the immediate context.

FUNCTION AND DESIGN VOCABULARY:
The entrance lobby is `the majestic element of the entire hotel that provides a luxurious yet functional environment for the weary traveler. The elevator lobby at the ground floor leads on to “Seasons” the Coffee Shop. The Coffee Shop is based on the garden concept – with a Gazebo in metal. Tones of minimalism are evoked in artifacts and the furniture.
RESTAURANT:
Asian cuisine is served in the exclusive Indiana restaurant. The hotel in all respects evokes a sense of style, luxury and comfort with an international flavour. To the 90 year old teakwood pillars placed on stone chiselled bases and beautifully created decades old Tanjore Paintings adorning the walls with traditional sculptures placed at vantage points and furniture procured from the Chettinad region. The southern-cuisine restaurant the Royal Indiana is a recent addition to the specialty restaurant names in Chennai will cater to the discerning clientele of this part of the region by serving authentic cuisines from the states of KERALA, KARNATAKA, ANDHRA PRADESH, GOA & our very own TAMIL NADU
The speciality restaurant has a total seating for 80 people. there is a six seater private room offering privacy for the group or family. There is a separate sea food counter on the east of the main entry.
To create a real atmosphere of the regions from where the recipes have been derived, they have recreated the interiors - starting with the magnificent 150 year old teakwood doorway, to the 90 year old teakwood pillars placed on stone chiselled bases and beautifully created decades old Tanjore Paintings adorning the walls with traditional sculptures placed at vantage points and furniture procured from the Chettinad region.
Teakwood is used for the adorning of the main door, the columns and also for the furniture. Panelling is done on the walls along with sculptures.
