The renovation of the museum in the park near the lake in Ichihara city, Chiba, Japan.
Roof is like a ribbon wrapping around the existing building. These ribbons connect the roof of the pre-existing building, garden, and the lakeside together. They form spaces that connect the outside to inside and visitors can walk around them.
When visitors walk on these ribbons, they have views of the surrounding mountains, hills, lakes and forest.
Visitors can look inside the museum exhibitions, kids can play in the garden, people can rest in the cafe, while several events take place.
