The Wachau a stretch of the Danube Valley between Melk and Krems, is a cultural landscape of high visual quality. A particularly feature of this river landscape is the harmony between natural landscape formations and man-made elements. It preserves in an intact and visible form many traces in terms of architecture, natural biodiversity and agricultural use, principally for the cultivation of vines on stone terraces.

Inspired by the structure and constant dialogue between the organic and geometric forms from the vineyards terraces, the site specific intervention Fenster in die Landschaft, is an observatory- piece that emerges from the landscape to define and to discover new perceptions of the Wachau valley. A project concerned with shaping new perspectives of the natural and cultural setting. The intervention, placed on a privileged landscape with an unique views, emerges as a window that suggest and reveals a sequence of landscapes. A wide vista over a vineyard is seen through a framing device, creating new experiences through outstanding scenery of the Wachau.
