During the childhood of Principal Architect, Thakur Udayveer Singh, from Pre-Nursery to 12th he has studied in this school. This synopsis shall explain how the team explored the designing part of the institute's Diwali campus at Cant-Jandiala Road, Jalandhar. The Innocent Hearts Group of Institutes is fully aware of their duty and responsibility towards the children entrusted to care for and praise the learning efforts of the children. They strive to develop an inquisitive and exploring mind of the students. According to the school's philosophy, every child is a masterpiece in the making. Teachers and professors create a congenial environment for intellectual and emotional growth, and Innocent Hearts is synonymous with such efforts.
The built environment is very important to the overall development of human beings. How children perceive and evaluate their environment is one crucial step to understand their needs in the built environment and to build a better environment for them to live in. The vision, therefore, is to understand an architect's role in shaping the School built environment so that the designers perceive their ideas not out of the competition to create something different but to create an environment where users are happier, healthier, and more comfortable than their previous environments.
Designing for well-being and health includes diverse opportunities and a large range of criteria. The strategy is that designs are good enough to meet the quantitative health-related measures but are also adaptable to and integrated with a broader set of principles to support the context.
In this project, firstly the SRA team segregated the campus into two parts, one was the kindergarten area, and the other included the primary and secondary wings. Both the parts had different requirements and strengths. The primary and secondary blocks took the form according to the plot profile; and a very interesting form came out of it, as we can see it in the building. The kindergarten's design was based on circular planning. Now, you may ask why circular? It was done because whenever one hands over a pencil to a kid, the first thing he/she scribbles is a circle. A kid, who sees a room made of straight elements, would not imagine a circular classroom. Hence, it creates an interest for the kid to study in a circular building.
So, hope you shall find our overall mind process interesting. It is immensely satisfying for the architect that he studied in this school and redesigned it.
