Situated on a steeply contoured hillside overlooking a lake, this 45 room resort is designed in small 2 level modules along the hill slopes. Proposed to be built in locally sourced sandstone with light weight metal frame & recycled wood roofs, each room opens into large cantilevered decks towards the lake and the surrounding hills.
The entire site will be retained with the existing contours and trees. An organic street connects all the rooms & common facilities generating large landscaped spaces within the site.Parking spaces are created at the entry point leaving the rest of the site vehicle free. Taking cognizance of the climate with temperatures in excess of 35°C for 6 months annually, stone walls, large roof over-hangs , recessed windows and north orientation will help mitigate heat gain and render the built spaces energy efficient. The design, the layout, the materials & the orientation create an eco- friendly sustainable environment enhanced by the extensive landscaped spaces.
