The design intention was to spread a message, encourage the user, create a sense of responsibility for the general public and highlight the importance and need for getting high standard education.

‘Architecture is a social act and the material theater of human activity.’
– Spiro Kostof
Sir Syed Memorial Complex; As this building was named after a great Muslim educationist and reformer of 19th Century, we thought that this building must convey the message of the person it was named after.
As we started our re-design process after thorough analysis of the building in its current state. We analyzed that it had been very mistreated, and it needed a new life. And after days of brainstorming and numerous discussions on how we can make this building convey the message of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, we became closer and closer to our goal and we found unique solutions that has the capacity to highlight that message for which Sir Syed Ahmed Khan gave all his life.
To spread a social message with the help of architecture, we’ve tried to emphasis on the negatives our society has delved into. In our work, we are trying to portray the tragedy of our society especially regarding education. We in our work have tried to tell that we took gem like Sir Syed Ahmed Khan and his message for granted. We are indicating towards the ignorance for knowledge in our society. We in our design concept have tried to point towards the bitter reality that we as society, as nation and as Ummah take ‘Education’ for granted.
