This home, originally built in 1926, is an old traditional Tudor-style home with charming details. Arditi Design stayed true to the period and updated the interiors with modern finishes and colors. The homeowners (a family of four – with two teenage boys) were afraid to experiment with color and pattern, but Arditi Design was able to take them out of their comfort zone.

The objective was to marry the two different design styles - bolder colors and more vibrant interiors with muted patterns and subtle shapes. Arditi Design achieved this by introducing subtle changes throughout the home. A rich purple Benjamin Moore paint covers the door and trim, including around the charming casement windows, in the dining room. Grasscloth wallpaper by Phillip Jeffries and sculptural accessories from Global Views and Arteriors play with the luxurious paint selection.

The architectural charm continues into the main living quarters, the family room, the kitchen, and the breakfast nook. The cozy family room brings in more patterns with pillows covered in Rebecca Atwood and Mark David fabrics. Window treatments featuring Walter G fabric can be seen throughout the rooms creating a cohesive design. The contemporary kitchen was updated with modern conveniences while staying true to the home's architectural history. A playful mudroom sits off to the side.

The library showcases custom built-ins covered in a calming Benjamin Moore blue with matching trim set against more Phillip Jeffries wallpaper. Custom pillows and a Stark area rug complete the room. Lastly, the sophisticated living room for more formal gatherings includes custom pillows, a chair, and a chaise lounge.
