Project
The “Nausena” or the Indian Navy is such a force whose duty is to protect the long coastal line around the Indian Peninsula and hence should be reflected in its prestigious HEADQUARTERS in the Capital of the country in similar terms.

A prime land parcel of 5.4 acres has been allotted to develop “Nausena Bhawan” or the Indian Naval Headquarters in the heart of New Delhi. The said building, having an area of about 28500 square meters, shall have offices of the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Chief of the Naval Staff (VCNS), Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (DCNS) and Chief of Materials (COM) along with other departments, all of which are to work and communicate coherently with each other besides maintaining their individual significance

Vision
The vision for the proposed design of Nausena Bhawan is to conceive an Administrative Building which is futuristic in its functional performance capacity as well as possesses a significant architectural language which is reminiscent of traditional Lutyens’ design and at the same time is path-breaking in the legacy of administrative building designs in India.

The Architecture of Nausena Bhawan aims to bring the 3 ’D’s viz. Discipline, Dynamism and Dominance under one roof which will not only be visible in its physical form but also the kind of workability, atmosphere and social image it is going to harness.

Objectives

To generate a design response which is strongly contextual to the site, to the planning principles of New Delhi.

Create an architectural design relevant to the purpose of the building – becomes an Icon for the Indian Navy built in the 21st Century.

To create an Environment within an Environment – demonstrate an Environmentally responsible Architecture which sets an example to be successfully followed.

To create a facility fully responsive to the needs & function of the Indian Navy complete with state of the art security.
