Alexander Rappoport successfully transferred the global restaurant trend to the gastronomic map of Moscow again. The Pythagoras restaurant became the place of experiments with Greek cuisine. There are no blue and white motifs, mosaics and antique columns. One of the conditions was the complete rethinking of Greek culture from a modern angle. The task of the Archpoint architectural bureau was really unusual. A restaurant in the very center of the capital needed redesign and rethinking.

Designers decided to create an ironic Greek interior that would fit into an already designed room. Its complexity was in insufficient lighting, inconvenient layout and zoning. The restaurant was completely painted black. To lighten the interior and make it more comfortable helped decorator reception with the central zone of the bar. A pattern of stones appeared on the floors, repeating the cobblestones of the famous island of Mykonos, all movable furniture changed their location, and the landing was turned to the center, which made the restaurant more lively and looked like a tavern. The interior was filled with multi-colored busts of the main characters of ancient Greek legends.

The central place of the restaurant is dedicated to a large installation from the Recycle art group "Gods on Olympus build a temple with drones." The glass atrium on the ceiling goes directly to the street, therefore, in addition to the aesthetic snow-white mesh piece of art, it also has a practical function, namely it hides guests from passers-by.

There are plenty of joking references to the great culture of the ancient Greeks. Here are the athletes running around the central sofa, and the white goat at the entrance, reminiscent of rural Greek life, and the proof of the Pythagorean theorem on the wall of the artist’s hands. There was no trace of the previous entrance: instead of the old barely noticeable facade, the architects built a semicircular portal with a brass letter Pi, as part of the name logo.

To solve the problem with light, while not having the ability to dismantle the ceilings, they had to use lamps and chandeliers. Also, a lot of greenery, trees and a hanging olive in the very center were added as a refreshing decor. This made the interior more Mediterranean and comfortable for guests. For the same task, we chose white tablecloths that reflect light and make the room more elegant.

The restaurant's cuisine is no less interesting. Everything is on the menu: from an octopus with herbs in a wood-burning stove to classic moussaka with a stewed duck and sweet potato cream. The Greek chef Christ Nanos skillfully balances between authentic recipes and haute cuisine, supporting the general atmosphere of irony, innovation and the charm of ancient Hellas.
