Residential tower with a sustainable architectural approach
Sustainable architecture and environmental issues are now a part of the agenda for businesses, as well as local and international communities. The word “sustainability” and the expression “sustainable architecture” are spreading in the world of design and architecture for two main reasons: functional and formal. Any object that is considered sustainable must show ecological awareness, therefore its functionality must be tied to its relationship with the environment through its appearance. Sustainable architecture seeks to minimize the negative environmental effect of buildings by efficiency and moderation in the use of materials, energy, and development space and the ecosystem at large. Sustainable architecture uses a conscious approach to energy and ecological conservation in the design of the built environment. Therefore, a mixed-use tower with a sustainable approach is designed as an urban project in the commercial area of Dubai, which has the ability to provide services on an urban scale. Residential, commercial, and cultural uses are considered in the design of this complex including spaces such as a residential tower, commercial space, gallery, multi-purpose hall, kindergarten, club, Vertical Park, restaurant, recreational spaces, and parking.
Energy efficiency over the entire life cycle of a building is the most significant goal of sustainable architecture. In this design, different passive and active techniques are used to reduce the energy needs of the building and increase its ability to capture or generate energy.
