Imagine … At a monumental, very crowded capital square, there is a gentle shade carrying the nostalgic scent Of forests and orchards bathed by the sunlight, of wild nature and juicy winter oranges. An immaterial fresh touch, an intangible space, hung from overlayered fabrics exposed to time. Even if too far or too absent to, yet, feel it, even if too broken to keep it side by side, There is the faithful companionship of solitude, mist landscape bringing back the lost childhood. Under the silent chair of future shade, quiet waiting for the sunrise, warming hands, Hoping for the sunset, for it will free the oppressed chest. Now, under your sweet shade... rest.
This is a conceptual project submitted to Sunbrella Competition 2016 edition. The aim is to showcase the sculptural and architectonic possibilities of Fabrics use to create an immersive stage for rest, in one of three categories: building shade, humanitarian, wellness space.

As stated by the competition's brief: "Light and shade are essential components of architecture. Sunlight can enliven a space, or it can make it unbearably hot and bright. The way architects and designers create shade for buildings, homes and public spaces transforms the way people use them.
The advent of cutting-edge technologies has enabled new building typologies. Just as steel elevators and air conditioning have changed the built environment, fabric’s versatility opens up new opportunities for aesthetically pleasing shade structures that take building design and function to a new level."
