How does one illustrate the torture and enslavement endured by a race? How can architecture demonstrate the torment experienced by a community of people? How does one enunciate the screams of annihilation through built form? How can creativity provide platforms to hear the traumatized voices of history calling out to us to honor them? History holds testament to the paramount hardships inflicted on the children of Israel. A community that has shown resilience through the ages of victimization and persecution. How can we tell the story of anguish and martyrdom to future generations? We are offered a moment in time, through the Jewish Pavilion, to create an expression which depicts this journey. We respond with a gesture. We respond with a Metaphor. We respond with an opportunity for the city to experience the “way of the Yahweh”
