Materials were locally sourced.
Scaffolding were from cut down coconut trees.
The site being in a remote area, cement and iron bars were hand carried.

The rest of the workers were unskilled in building construction. They were farmers and fishermen who needed jobs during lean season.
They eventually learned a new trade.
Construction was done in 7 months.
