The renovation of the 1930s brick buildings has brought about the transformation of an underground level into spaces used for scholarly activities and the CDI {Documentation and Information Centre}, as well as the creation of a link forming an open space between the two parallel existing buildings. The creation of a north-south cut out in the playground makes it possible to access and to bring natural light into these new spaces, which are themselves linked to the teaching areas by a wooden structured passageway. Combined with the creation of staff housing units above the present ground level + 1 part, this “recycling” of a building contributes to the re-qualification of the district as a whole.
