This is my first interactive micromuseum built in 1999 for the famous German writer Erich kaestner. It will celebtate its 10th aniversary ths year, it opened in 1999 for Kaestner`s 100 birthday. It is a new way to exhibit literature and has been very successful with all age groups. The project is also interesting due to the fact that it grew from year to year with the support of privat sponsoring using a building block principle. The concept deals with the idea of compacting and presenting information with minimal resources and space. A twin is presently being developed as a virtual museum for the global market. A further version is currently traveling the world having been in Salzburg, London and Tokyo. The project demonstrates that a sustainable museum culture can be achieved through an architecture of complex simplicity. The reduction of space, compacting of information, intelligent use of resources and the mediale revolution show that big architecture can indeed be small.
