Pastel-toned showroom by Clap Studio welcomes spring in Valencia

A showroom embraces a festivity concept dressed with pastel-toned interiors with colorful floral installations in Valencia, Spain.
Named ABBE Showroom, the 45-square-metre project was designed by Valencia-based design practice Clap Studio for ABBE (Artesanía Bordada), a leading company in the production of artisanal products.
The company commissioned Clap Studio to design a showroom to showcase products for the participants of “Fallas”, a festival celebrated in Valencia that commemorates the arrival of spring.
The interiors are simple, soft and monochrome, but are enriched with floral installations, giving them an artistic flair.
"The Fallas have their origin in an ancient tradition of the carpenters of Valencia, who lit bonfires in the city squares to burn the remnants of wood used during winter," said the studio.
"Over time, these bonfires evolved into artistic monuments made with flammable materials, known as "fallas". This festival has been declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO."
In response to the concept, the studio began the project with the aim of finding a solid and strong concept that would represent this festivity. In this way, the team was inspired by the Fallas to create a showroom that celebrates the blossoming and transition from winter to spring.
"What we represent in the space is a specific moment, as if we had frozen time at the precise moment when nature awakens from a winter slumber," said Àngela Montagud, co-founder of Clap Studio.
"This is where the floral installation we created together with the Amiguis collective comes from."
"ABBE's showroom is a monochromatic space where, at a specific point, everything blooms and comes to life. The interior is completely covered in artisanal mortar that combines with perimeter curtains that conceal the exposed product, as needed."
"These curtains allow the experience to be molded and adapted to the user and their needs," added Montagud.
The heart of the space is a preserved flower installation, created in collaboration with the Amiguis collective.
This flower installation brings vitality and color to the space and represents the fleeting moment of spring blossoming, hence the volumes of different colors that simulate growth and will eventually cover the entire room in color.
Clap Studio designed the interiors of a restaurant that mimics a sunset on the beach with colorful components, materials and colors in Valencia.
Clap Studio was founded by Jordi Iranzo and Àngela Montagud in 2017 in Valencia. The young studio, operating worldwide, is focused on the design of experiences through interiors, product and artistic installations.
