The shades of peach, yellow and green invade the interiors of a beauty salon designed by Masquespacio in Milan, Italy. The project, named We Are Emma, is located in the heart of Milan and reinterprets joy and playfulness with colors. 

The 123-square-metre project, redefining modern lifestyle, combines contemporary aesthetics with functionality to create a harmonious and inspiring environment.

Valencia-based interior design studio Masquespacio created interiors filled with full of peachy tones for a hairstyling brand We Are Emma. 

The studio aimed to create an environment that exudes "joy and playfulness", achieved primarily through the strategic use of color and organic shapes. 

The interiors feature vibrant hues and whimsical forms adorned in the space, adding a distinct charm and evoking an atmosphere of lightheartedness. 

"However, this playful ambiance isn't at the expense of sophistication," according to the studio. 

For material choice, the team carefully selected materials like tainted natural wood, marble, and stainless steel for the design features, adding a refined touch to the space. 

As the studio explained, the combination of these elements would successfully deliver an elegant yet playful concept for We Are Emma's brand. It would give a striking a perfect balance that is visually appealing and representative of the brand's unique identity.

When customers step into the salon, they are welcomed by the retail space, where a hospitable host is ready to introduce you to the range of services they offer. 

This is also where they have the opportunity to explore the wide array of hairstyling products that We Are Emma has for sale. 

While organic shapes are complemented by an eye-catching pink color palette, the color palette forms the character of the salon. Dominating this space, an arch-shaped opening immediately draws your attention, enticing you to continue into the hairstyling area. 

This opening, a testament to the unique design elements inherent in Masquespacio's approach, serves as a playful and inviting transition into the heart of We Are Emma's salon experience.

Upon entering the hairstyling area, a bar corner immediately catches visitors' attention, this bar corner is an unexpected yet delightful addition to the salon. 

"The bar invites visitors to indulge in a refreshing drink while you wait for your appointment, imbuing a sense of relaxation and enjoyment to the overall salon experience," said Masquespacio. "Moreover, the bar isn't exclusive to salon patrons." 

The bar warmly welcomes anyone in the neighborhood to drop by for a drink, making We Are Emma not just a destination for haircare, but a social hub as well. 

According to the studio, this brings an innovative solution, while further elevating the We Are Emma experience, flawlessly merging the worlds of beauty and leisure.

On the right of the bar area, the studio arranged a series of hairstyling pods, designed with the perfect balance of privacy and openness. The hairstyling pods were envisioned like open capsules that act like a haven for customers helping to disconnect and enter their own world during their hair treatment. 

"Each pod features an ultra-comfortable seating arrangement, enhancing the client's comfort during their beauty session. The elegant fusion of marble and gold materials in these pods accentuates the elegant feel of the salon," the studio continued.

"These materials, chosen for their timeless beauty and sophistication, underscore the importance of this area, making it one of the most striking features of We Are Emma," the studio added. 

The concept embodies "tranquility and relaxation"

Inside, another key component is the washing station, which was placed away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the salon. 

It was strategically designed to "offer clients a moment of serene disconnection while their hair is being washed, this space is purposefully separated from the other areas," as the studio described. 

The layout of the concept, purposefully, was aimed to embody "tranquility and relaxation", other elemenets include the soft, ambient lighting and the gentle hum of running water, helping to create a soothing atmosphere. On the other hand, the comfortable reclining seats ensure maximum relaxation. 

At We Are Emma, the studio meticulously crafted each space with a focus on comfort and elegance, guaranteeing that customers' visit is not just a hairstyling session, but a truly immersive experience.

Masquespacio also designed the interiors of a gym to reflect the mood of 1980s techno style and cyberpunk in Salzburg, Austria. 

Another key project of the office is The Barcelona Club, featuring a green-colored gigantic castle, a whale-formed car and artful furniture pieces are scattered randomly in a club for a mobility brand Lynk & Co in Barcelona.

Based in Valencia, Masquespacio is an award-winning creative consultancy established in 2010 by Ana Milena Hernández Palacios and Christophe Penasse.
