Empowered elegance: A bold redefinition of the injectable clinic experience in Toronto

This futuristic wonderland, which boldly redefines the injectables clinic experience, is bold and confident in its use of harmonious color blocking and a surprisingly open layout that reflects the founder's uniqueness and attitude.

To align with the brand's characteristic colors of lipstick red and vivid pink, Studio Author used a practical color scheme with surgical stainless-steel finishes for the clinic, named POUTx.

A limited bank of materials was implemented as a result of the challenge of having a small footprint—less than 800 square feet (74 square meters).

Strong red highlights, clinical stainless-steel millwork, and a micro-cement finished floor and walls, along with a matching pink ceiling to unite the room, create an immersive pink atmosphere for the visitor. In addition to further manipulating light and color, the huge convex mirrors, vertical tube lighting, and surrounding neon enhance the space's perspective.

The focal point of the room is an outstanding 19-foot-long (5,79 meters) stainless-steel welcome desk, which serves as a place to mingle and make an impression both before and after services.

The two open treatment pods are unexpectedly visible from this angle, challenging the notion of assumed seclusion in this context and distancing itself from the stigma associated with "getting work done."

This idea is further supported by the transparent red acrylic walls that are stacked and float away from the ceiling and floor.

To improve the clinical element of treatments, each treatment pod has an operatory-style, stainless-steel nurse's station, a big circular mirror for client consultation and evaluation, and adjustable overhead surgical lighting.

The injectables product, medical sharps disposal, and ancillary item storage are all neatly hidden behind a specialized workstation that doubles as a freezer.

The vertical neon lights that span the enormous storefront windows provide a striking beacon of light that stands out on the crowded sidewalk, drawing in incoming customers.

The impact of this striking statement lighting is maintained between the high-gloss red colonnade facing the reception desk and around the outside walls.

These continuous columns offer guest coat closets and useful concealed storage. Expectations are further pushed by the accompanying dramatic graphic, "Face Wall," which features the brand's potent iconography and tagline, "maintained, not changed."

"This striking project sets itself apart in its rejection of the standard, a vibrant celebration of the empowerment of the individual, and a clinic experience like no other," said Studio Author.
