Building Commucity: From The Smart Cities To The Smart World at MIPIM 2019

MIPIM, the world's leading property market, has started its first day with a session called “Building Commucity: From The Smart Cities To The Smart World”, the session is held as part of the “What’s The Future” series. MIPIM helds its 30thedition on March 12-15, 2019 at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France with a series of discussions and lectures.
The session has been moderated by Sergey Riabokobylko, Executive Partner, General Director Cushman & Wakefield, the speakers included Maria Broman, CEO Semrén & Mansson International, Nikolay Kazanskiy, Managing partner, Colliers International Russia; President, Guild Of Managers and Developers Colliers International Russia, Sergey Kuznetsov, Chief architect of Moscow Committee for architecture and urban planning of Moscow and Alexandre Missoffe, Executive Director Greater Paris Investment Agency.
This year’s theme explores "Engaging the Future" and delivers a special edition to highlight global and societal topics impacting the real estate industry. In a 1-hour discussion, Building Commucity focused on the transformation of the real estate due to the changes in the economy, society and the technology’s advance.
The panelists particularly discussed how citizens can participate in the development of their cities? How digital “break” the traditional industry? Building a commucity (community + city) from the “smart cities" to the “smart world”. In a 1-hour session, the panelists discussed the current trends, investments and real estate industry occurring in last years, Moscow and Russia has been the central focus in the discussion.
New metro hubs, new transportation systems, new urban plans have been elaborated by Sergey Kuznetsov, Chief architect of Moscow Committee for architecture and urban planning of Moscow. "The new plans show that how Moscow expands its territories by making these new plans as part of the cities after the Soviet Union times," said Kuznetsov. "It is a big step for Russia," he added.
"Water infrastructure and new transportation models are developed and they are becoming a part of the city centre," he explained. "Moscow is expanded with successful infrastructure with subways and railroads."
In adiditon, "investment attractiveness" was also the key point of of the new investments which have been explained by Nikolay Kazanskiy, Managing partner, Colliers International Russia; President, Guild Of Managers and Developers Colliers International Russia.
He explained that where is Russia located now and how it is developing in terms of commercial buildings, offices spaces or mixed-use developments. Kazanskiy showed the changing dynamics of the construction industry that is currently rising in Russia. The statistics show that building retail units will be rising in 2019 in Russia. Building of warehouses and industrial buildings continues to grow since last year.
Moreover, Maria Broman, CEO Semrén & Mansson International, explored the current situations of real estate industry with the current trends. Broman said that "current rends affect us from many points of view and we see that how many ways of branding are occurring in the real estate?" "And what are them?".
"Blogging" is one of the trends that makes that are trendy," explained Broman. New lifestyle projects are also affecting the industry, for example, Soho House developed in London and it is one of its kind. And it is expanding in many cities all around the world.
"Digitalization" is another tool that proposes alternative models like richer production, cheaper and environmental-friendly construction models. 3D Printing is only one of these tools that are applied in architecture and the real estate as well," added Broman.
"Sustainability" is another trends for clients because having a certificate on one building makes the client more safe. "Because people want to know about the buildings where they will live," concluded Broman.
