IE SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN has launched the initiative MBARCH Entrepreneurship challenge for forward-looking and open minded young professionals in AEC, that see that through the action and power of design, we can change diverse problems in society and economy.

The challenge is focused on problem-identification, rather than on the solution side, which is a later stage in the educational process of entrepreneurship on which IE focuses in-depth. Hence, IE identified 5 key improvement areas in which there are numerous opportunities to exert change through design and AEC.

Through a series of short questions, participants are asked  to communicate the problems that they have identified in the industry in an eloquent and precise way, and to finish with a very initial attempt to elaborate a path for potential development or solutions to these problems.

The winning entries will be awarded a scholarship toward tuition for the IE Master in Business for Architecture and Design (commencing in April 2021).

Students are encouraged to take a creative approach to architecture, think critically when confronted with a challenge and not be afraid to think outside the traditional boundaries of architecture and design. Diversity among our students and faculty, who get at IE from all over the world, creates a rich blend of cultures and a broad learning experience. Graduates can aspire to work all over the globe and are able to consider the world as their town.

In a rapidly changing world, we need entrepreneurs who are capable of questioning everything around them and changing it for the better. They challenge the status quo—whether that’s in business, industry or society—and are able to orchestrate people, resources and processes around problem-solving visions. On their journeys, they innovate, seek a positive impact and build valuable businesses.

Spatial design activities and the vast global construction industry are also in the midst of a deep transformation—motivated, among other factors, by a shifting business culture, new technology, and urgent environmental and social pressures.

But for intrepid and creative minds — and designers are among the most gifted in this respect — changes ALWAYS imply OPPORTUNITY.

1st Prize

 Five (5) 1ST PRIZES will be awarded consisting of:

- Scholarship worth € 10,000 towards the program tuition fees.

2nd Prize

Three (3) 2ND PRIZES will be awarded consisting of:

 - Admission to IE Master in Business for Architecture and Design program for the 2021-2022 academic year.
