New images have been revealed for Studio Gang-designed MIRA Tower in San Francisco, the new images show that the curtain wall of the tower has been dressed and completed, punctuating the San Francisco skyline with its twisting silhouette.

The MIRA Tower, containing 392 luxury condominium residences, began construction in mid-2017 and has progressed steadily since, with occupancy of the 400-foot (122-metre) tower is expected to be completed for early 2020.

Developed by Tishman Speyer, the tower will include luxury condominium residences and retail spaces on the ground floor. MIRA’s forward-thinking architecture and interiors are designed by Studio Gang’s Jeanne Gang, an award-winning architect and member of the 2019 TIME 100 list.

To realize the geometric complexity of the project’s dynamic, white curtain wall, a modular façade system consisting of families of units was created that repeats every 11 floors. The engineering process was adapted from the aerospace industry to achieve the exceptionally flat and clean look of the curtain wall’s Italian-made white panels.

The curtain wall is a part of a distinctive, spiraling design that transforms San Francisco’s skyline with large bay windows that twist up the building’s façade to offer residents sweeping views of San Francisco Bay, the Bay Bridge, and the City.

The important aspect of the building, as emphasized by Jeanne Gang - Principal of Studio Gang - it will offer 40% below-market-rate units integrated with the market-rate units.

"Reinterpreting the classic bay windows of San Francisco, our design amplifies the dynamic quality of the neighborhood," said Jeanne Gang, founding principal of Studio Gang.

"Spiraling all the way up this 400-foot tower, bay windows create unique spaces in every  residence that offer fresh air, expansive views, and changing qualities of light throughout the day."

"With the final piece of MIRA’s curtain wall in place, we’re excited that the project can now assume its final form and add its remarkable architectural statement to the San Francisco skyline," said Carl Shannon, Senior Managing Director at Tishman Speyer.

"We are now one step closer to residents moving into this beautiful tower. We’re proud that everyone can now see what an architectural achievement Jeanne Gang has given San Francisco in MIRA and are grateful to have the opportunity to contribute such a distinctive building to the community."

When completed, MIRA’s bright, modern, and spacious one-, two- and three-bedroom condominiums and townhouses will offer sweeping, expansive views of the city and the Bay  through large bay windows. Located one block from the Embarcadero, the community will feature amenities such as a courtyard, rooftop deck, private dining and lounge, a Jay Wright-designed fitness center, children’s playroom, conference room, dog washing station, valet parking for 340 cars with electric vehicle charging stations, bicycle parking, and over 10,000 square feet of retail at street level. Inside, bay windows in every residence offer sweeping views and create a dynamic façade that will transform the neighborhood with Studio Gang’s groundbreaking, forward-thinking architecture.
