How to easily optimise energy efficiency investments?

MIPIM's other innovative session has explored digital revolution for energy efficiency investments presented by Laaksomo Petteri and Lautso Petteri held at Innovation Forum.
Laaksomo Petter, leads one of Ruukki Construction's four business units, and Lautso Petteri, Customer Value Director in Ruukki Construction, explained how clients can create energy efficient and more sustainable building to avoid double investments.
''It is only possible to make investment decisions based on cash-flow when the costs and savings of energy efficient solutions are clearly known,'' stated in the session. The case study showed how sophisticated modelling and simulation tools enable cost savings even when developing technically challenging nearly zero energy buildings with limited resources.
The speakers insisted that Ruukki Construction's modelling goes beyond Building Information Modelling (BIM) architects and developers already know because the firm collects all data before the actual design takes place-the firm puts sensors in the building and the simulation shows what is wrong or going on at the building site. According to Laaksomo Petteri and Lautso Petteri, the firm uses new technology for this modelling and gets concrete results.
The session showed that how dynamic energy simulations and new technology can decrease any investment by creating specific case studies for that building. They said that the firm particularly deals with re-use materials, sustainability and construction products by allocating all data for their future analyses.
