Herzog&de Meuron marks the start of the construction of the fourth and last extension for Helvetia Head Office in St.Gallen.

The long-term collaboration between Herzog & de Meuron and Helvetia started with a competition in 1989 consisting of four structures docked onto the ends of each wing of an existing cruciform complex which had been erected in the 1970s. Three of these extensions were completed between 2000 and 2004. Planned completion of the fourth, the West Wing, is expected for early 2017.
