Frank Gehry’s revised design for a memorial to Dwight D. Eisenhower on the Washington Mall was given preliminary approval in a 10-1 vote on Thursday.The vote was taken by the National Capital Planning Commission, one of the agencies that must approve the memorial before it can be built.Mr. Gehry said in a statement that he was “grateful” to the commission for its decision “and for its cooperative engagement in resolving the issues.”....Continue Reading
