United Kingdom Architecture News - Oct 08, 2014 - 15:53 6004 views
The Alvar Aalto Foundation, in collaboration with Google, is offering virtual tours through the interieur of several iconic buildings by this famous Finnish architect. Nine of Aalto’s realisations were selected, including Finlandia Hall, the Aalto studio, and the Tehtaanmäki primary school.
At the same time, the Google Cultural Institute is hosting two online exhibitions: ‘A stool makes history’, about the creation of the iconic stool #60; and ‘Restoring the Alvar Aalto library in Vyborg.
Through this collaboration and thanks to the use of new technologies that reinforce its legendary energy, the foundation continues its exhibition and education programmes to promote a deeper understanding of Alvar Aalto’s work to an ever larger audience around the world.
