JAM, led by Jun Murata, has renovated a small room of collective housing in Osaka, Japan with minimal touches by using green fixtures, white-furnitures and simple texture. Named Small Room/Small Green, the house is filled with natural light and refreshing wind going through the inside.
Flowing clouds and flying birds are reflected on the glossy floor. As time has passed, this white space is dyed by various color of sky. Murata used several handmade flowerpots, made of concrete are displayed inside. They are all warped shapes applying simple texture.
''Small plants are dissolving in daily life. Trains and cars. Moving crowds. Voices of children echoing in the distance. Various tone of city is passing in the peaceful interior. I want dwellers to enjoy small life in the city with feeling the nature,'' said Jun Murata.
The architect paints one of the walls with black colour to create a contrast in the bedroom, and uses a small bed and vintage black-chair to dominate the space. All furnitures and kitchen equipments are selected as metallic-grey and white to provide a smooth surface.
