The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) announces the launch of its International Prize. Each year it will recognize an exemplary building, regardless of size, nature, or budget, built in the previous three years by a qualified architect, anywhere in the world.
"With this prize, our intention is to identify the most visionary, the most innovative architecture in the world, and stimulate debate on the global and local levels to show the positive impact that buildings and spaces designed by architects can have on communities and their environment." said RIBA President Jane Duncan.
The jury will be chaired by British architect Sir Richard Rodgers and composed of Kunle Adeyemi, Philip Gumuchdjian, and Marilyn Jordan Taylor, Dean of architecture at the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Fine Arts, who is the UIA representative. The registration deadline is 9 February 2016.
