Japanese Architects Share Their Expertise In Earthquake Resistant Design

After the 11/03/2011 earthquake, the Japan Institute of Architects (JIA) and the Japan Aseismic Safety Organisation (JASO) published a revised edition of their manual Earthquake-resistant Design for Architects. The first edition appeared following the Kobe earthquake.
A collaboration between architects, engineers, and various specialists, this handbook shows how to reduce damages through conception, design, and construction. It is the result of many risk-reducing methods as well as individual experience and viewpoints. Jointly with the Japan Institute of Architects, JASO decided to ensure that the largest possible audience of builders can benefit from this manual by making a donation for its translation into English and offering it as a free download from their website.
The main index of the study consists of 15 major titles and many subtitles that examine the earthquakes with a deep analyses via images,texts,graphics,diagrams and illustrations.You can download the work from here and we share some of the images from the document below;
