Apple has signed a deal for Landbank Investments’ planned Central & Wolfe campus designed / revealed by HOK Architects in 2014, which covers a 777,000-square-foot project at Central Expressway and Wolfe Road in Sunnyvale, reports the Silicon Valley Business Journal. According to the same reports, the negotiations were going about this giant technical campus between developers and tech giant but this week, sources with knowledge of the transaction confirmed the deal is complete.

The relationships between buildings and open space are inspired by the dynamic relationship of converging biomes in the Santa Clara Valley. Each of the three four-story office buildings will feature an internal courtyard designed for year-round use with pedestrian pathways connecting all facilities and outdoor spaces. A two-story, standalone amenity building features cafés, banking, athletic courts, retail and restaurants.

HOK Architects had revealed new design for Central & Wolfe Silicon Valley Campus in 2014 and it had been mentioned by HOK designers that “much like the hotly anticipated Apple HQ, the Central & Wolfe project will replace an unsightly set of sprawling cookie-cutter buildings and their surface parking lots with a curvy modern edifice surrounded by greenery.”

The central quad features an open plaza, detailed landscaping, public art, a 500-person sunken amphitheater, a large dining terrace, outdoor pavilions and café chairs and tables. Conveniently located between the Lawrence and Sunnyvale Caltrain stations, auto courts and a designated shuttle depot provide pedestrian drop-off areas. Once they arrive, employees can navigate all areas of the campus internally without accessing city streets.
“The transit-accessible campus will be located just between the Lawrence and Sunnyvale Caltrain stations, and will achieve LEED Platinum certification. The developers hope the lush new campus will attract plenty of interest from tech startups desperate for space in an ever more competitive Silicon Valley commercial real estate market.”
The Central & Wolfe Campus will transform the existing obsolescent 1970s "business park" into a modern 777,000 s.f. campus that will be a signature asset for Silicon Valley's leading edge technology companies and the surrounding community. The Silicon Valley Business Journal reports that ''Apple has leased, not purchased, the project. It's unknown when it could start construction''

This new curvilinear structure in Sunnyvale will provide enough room for more than 3,000 workers in the northern California tech community- and Apple has made a huge land-grab in recent months in parts of Sunnyvale, Santa Clara and, more recently, north San Jose, where it has spent $300 million to assemble nearly 70 acres.
