Born in Italy in 1962 and graduated from the Milan Polytechnic in 1987, Antonio Virga creates his architecture, interior architecture and design firm in Paris in 1991.
The early years of the agency are characterized by rehabilitation of urban heritage projects and interior design projects within constrained sites: offices, showrooms, retail are all excuses to reinvest and refine space.
Customers are renowned and demanding (Dior, Ungaro, Céline, Diesel, Benetton, Printemps, Chloé, Yves Saint Laurent, Sergio Rossi ...) architecture is both functional and communicative. The treatment of detail and clean lines are particularly affirmed.
In the early 2000s, the activity diversifies around equipment, and public competitions now account for a major part of the development of the agency. Housing, student residences, hostels, shopping centers, equestrian centers, become the means to redefine the notions of comfort and aesthetics at a larger scale. The Atoll has been nominated at the Equerre d’Argent in 2012.
Working on projects ranging «from a teaspoon to the city» (Gio Ponti), the agency reinforced its refusal to specialize through this program diversity.
