Born in Istambul in 1951, Albert Abut got his Architect Diploma in Paris, at the famous Ecole des Beaux-Arts (UP1) in 1975. After years of practice in Sweden and in the Netherlands, he arrived in Japan in 1983, where he had been invited by the already recognized K. Kikutake and M. Senda. Since 1990 after starting his own practice in Japan, he has been living and working between Paris and Tokyo. Inheriting a strong french creativity and inspired by the Japanese minimalism and sense of details, his architectural style has therefore been strongly steeped by the know-how and the expertise of these two countries. Deeply concerned by the natural and urban environment in which mankind is evolving, and always curious about new technologies and materials, he develops energy efficient designs for making sustainable buildings and cities.
