Stavroula Papafotiou
Stavroula Papafotiou obtained Bachelor of Architecrture in Patras University, Greece and MArch Urban Design in Bartlett School of Architecture. Along with Daria Shipukhina they have formed SPeeD Studio both attending March Urban Design in Bartlett School of Architecture in 2009 in London, UK. Closely paralleled one another in several projects, they have developed their interest in tactile design approach and its implementation in architectural build forms. They believe in the merging of form-content-context, in the authentic human experience, and the ability of architecture to preserve, transform, and intensify the essential qualities of each and every site. For them each project is a new invitation to creative interpretation, critical drawing, precise strategies and invention.
SPeeeD’s commitment of articulation through critical experimental approach is a common thread through all their projects. Their formal manner grounded in urban design has progressed to specific architectural forms that give potential for future events and occupation of the space that evolve over time.
They are currently working on infrastructure projects, masterplanning and architectural competitions.
