Batia Svirsky - Melloul was born in Poland in 1957. She was awarded her Diploma Prize in architecture at the Technion in Haifa 1980. While completing her Master degree on a scholarship, she taught at the Faculty of Architecture and meanwhile worked at Prof David Yanay’s studio .In 1984, she got her Msc. in Architecture & Town planning with excellence.

In 1985 she founded Bea Architects & Town Planners. In the first years the office specialized in regional planning and urban design. Over the following years Bea Architects developed and diversified to deal not only with urban projects, but also with public buildings. During this period, the firm was awarded several prizes for its participation in open architectural competitions.

Simultaneously Batia taught in some leading schools: From 1992-1995 at the interior design department of the HAIT School of Design & From 1998-2000 at the Bezalel Academy of Art.

In recent years, Batia serves as a member of the following professional organizations: A Member of the Tel-Aviv and the audit committees of the Israeli Association of Architects, a member of the consulting commission to the registrar of architects and a director of the board of Engineers & Architects insurance agency.

Recently she had completed the cultural complex in Or-Akiva that won a competition in 1996 and the prize of “A Beautiful Israel” in 2003. Another important project being built is the Educational Campus in Tel-Mond – a project spread over an area
