I’m Maraj Mahmud, a final-year Architecture student at Southeast University, Bangladesh.
From the very beginning of my academic journey, I’ve deeply loved architecture—not just as a subject, but as a way to see the world differently. I believe architecture is a powerful medium that connects people, culture, time, and emotion. My dream is to become a thoughtful, responsible, and impactful architect—one who not only designs buildings but also builds meaning.
For my undergraduate thesis, I focused on the conservation of Kokil Peri Palace and the surrounding heritage of Kolakopa. Through this project, I explored how adaptive reuse, AR/VR, and storytelling can turn history into a living, emotional experience for people. It was a heartfelt attempt to preserve heritage in a way that speaks to both the past and the future.
In the days ahead, I want to work more on heritage conservation, context-sensitive design, and sustainable architecture—areas where design can truly make a difference.
