It is an architectural design firm founded in 2017 by David Martinez in the city of Monterrey, NL. Within the workshop, architecture is understood as a craft, a plural reflection attentive to history and emotions.
Seeking to involve the worlds of theoretical/historical rigor with the weight of a space translated into memory, Práctica Arquitectura aims to achieve a dialogue that talks about pre-existences, constructive tradition, and the making of places/spaces.
The interest in history is a key principle in its work. Understanding and reinterpreting it brings them closer to rigor in technique and the abstraction of learned ideas to broaden their understanding of the problem. In this way, the workshop is understood as an extension of the classroom. Most of the architects working here are former students of David, understanding Práctica Arquitectura as a school rather than a traditional office. With a spirit of learning, the practice unfolds in processes with critical thinking to work on architectural events that complement the place
