Nick Bevanda received his Architectural training at Washington State University. He is registered in British Columbia and the State of Washington and is a member of the Architectural Institute of British Columbia, Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, The American Institute of Architects and The Canadian Green Building Council.
In 2003, he founded Bevanda Architecture Inc, a studio for Architecture and Planning that produces a wide variety of projects ranging from small single-family residences to larger Commercial, Cultural, Educational and Civic buildings.
Nick believes in the Art of Architecture and the simplicity and honesty of Modernism.
His work represents regionally appropriate responses that are influenced by local ecologies, traditional building methods, materials and sustainable technologies. He strives to reconnect people to the landscape and to provide meaningful, timeless architecture, worthy of preservation.
In 2007 Nick, was invited to sit on the jury for the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia Awards for Excellence in Architecture. Nick was recently honoured with two Awards for Excellence in Concrete Construction, for two projects, constructed in the South Okanagan, The Hooded Merganser Bar and Grill and The Black Hills Estate Winery. In addition the Black Hills Estate Winery was also awarded a 2008 Lieutenant Governor, Certificate of Merit.
