This is an interior showroom proposal for the Xintiandi area of Hangzhou, China, modeled after one of the first lifestyle centers in China. Like its name, meaning the “New Heaven and Earth”, the original architecture plan fit the client’s requirements perfectly.
Visitors traveling through the showroom view displays in a sequence from the most general to the very detailed. In the general exhibition zone, innovative digital technology is used in combination with physical models to create a unique 3D viewing experience. The detailed exhibition zone on the other hand, is placed near the entrance so that displays can be easily changed periodically.
In terms of style, the proposal consists of two artistic approaches: one emphasizing the Hangzhou character using lighting and transparent fiber optic cable walls to divide the space, and a second emphasizing the industrial heritage of the area, integrating reused materials such as rusted steel to create interesting and unique spaces.
