Buckingham Palace Siege is an urban concept initiated by Situationist theories. I wanted to build a wall of periscopes around a section of a city, a siege. Outsiders could observe the interior social activities of the captured through the periscopes. The captives would be completely cut-off from supplies from the greater urban area. I thought about the commodification of the captured area by the captives. Looking at different urban areas initially; I eventually decided on Buckingham as an interesting place of siege. An antiquated social hierarchy could play out an interesting performance via the periscopes for the observers. With no supplies; what would play out on the palace grounds? Who would the last person alive. Would the observers place wagers on who they thought would last the longest? What would happen to the palace art collections in a situation where they were only available to the captives? Would the palace building survive? What would happen to the palace grounds after the siege ran its course? How would the greater urban area be affected by such a situation? What do you think would happen?
