This project is located in one of the mountainous, forested regions of Sareyn, with a primary focus on blending architecture seamlessly into the natural landscape. Instead of imposing a distinct and separate structure onto the terrain, the design follows the natural slope of the land to ensure minimal disruption to the skyline and surrounding scenery. By integrating the built environment with the existing topography, the project preserves the region’s breathtaking views while maintaining a sense of harmony between human intervention and nature.

The project is composed of two primary sections: the house on the left and the atelier on the right. One of the main design priorities was to maintain open vistas and allow the landscape to remain a dominant feature of the site. As a result, the architectural form was developed to merge with the land, embedding the volumes into the natural slope rather than standing apart from it. The approach path and access to different spaces are defined by a staircase that extends from the terrain itself, creating a fluid connection between the built and natural elements. This staircase serves not only as a circulation path but also as a viewing platform, extending onto the roof to provide panoramic perspectives of the surrounding environment.

The house serves as the residential space, carefully designed with solid walls that enhance thermal mass, reducing energy consumption and improving efficiency. Natural light filters into the interior through strategically placed roof and side openings, creating a serene and enclosed atmosphere conducive to comfort and relaxation. Meanwhile, the atelier, being a more compact volume, features expansive glass surfaces that maximize daylight penetration and establish a direct visual connection with the landscape. This design decision reflects the nature of its use, as occupants spend most of their daytime in this space, engaging in creative or work-related activities that benefit from an open, light-filled setting.

Due to the distinct usage patterns of each space, the house is primarily utilized at night, offering a tranquil and sheltered environment where residents can unwind and experience the vast, star-filled sky. The project as a whole embodies an architectural philosophy centered on sustainability and contextual integration, ensuring that built forms do not overpower the natural beauty of their surroundings. Instead, they work in concert with the landscape, creating a living experience that feels both immersive and respectful of its environment.
By focusing on these principles, the project successfully achieves a balance between functionality, sustainability, and aesthetic coherence, reinforcing the idea that architecture can exist in harmony with nature rather than in opposition to it.
