The friends’ room is the space where Museo Franz Mayer´s trust holds their meetings. The direction and trust members requested a project to renew the space, improving its lighting, furniture and fixtures conditions, in order to have efficient and comfortable meetings surrounded by an ambience reflecting the museum´s essence.

It was decided to divide the space in two zones, keeping the original wood floors from Mr. Franz Mayer house, that in combination with the wood beams give warmth to the space and tell part of the history of the museum. The design language turns into the balance between the classical and contemporary elements such as the furniture, lighting and selected materials to emphasize the functional and comfortable ambiance being sought for.

The meeting area had to be spectacular, a large bullet shape table with center access was designed so that the speaker may be close to all the participants or it may also be closed to sit 25 people. Above this a grand contemporary chandelier is hanging, the use of the corporate color red was maximized to give accents to the space and also was installed the necessary equipment to give all the comfort for a meeting of event. The selected pieces of art bring personality to the space.

The bathroom is where a daring proposal was done; the cube that receives it was covered with wallpaper with a linear relief to emphasize its height. Inside the bathroom a contrast between neutral and gray tiles was done against another turquoise tile placed on the wall resulting in the visual end that impacts going into the space.
