Olivium Villas is located on 4 hectares of virgin land overlooking Hebil Bay, already recognized as one of the last unspoiled and most desired spots along the southwestern coast of Turkey. Close to Bodrum and the Milas Airport, it presents the ideal vacation spot as well as a prime development opportunity. The design blends Mediterranean style with international flare, marrying modernist dimensions with warm local materials. The architect has drawn out the uniquely gracious contemporary Turkish lifestyle, with its easy flow of interior and exterior spaces, inviting the natural world into the design. No two houses are alike and no two vistas are the same, complementing the natural environment and accentuating the dramatic play of mountain and sea. Five distinct housing typologies create a coherent interplay of stucco and natural stone, transparency and frame, introducing horizontal linearity unique to this area. Though large {each house averages 800 square meters}, they nestle into the landscape intimately, belying their size. Careful siting has preserved existing mature olive trees and boulders, and taken advantage of the unique opportunities provided by gradient. At water’s edge, a ribbon of wood decking domesticates the beach, providing access to the boat dock shared by resident sailboats and their tenders.
