CHOTTA CLUB

In 1916 during the British rule, Mr. Khastagir, the then Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong, a southern district of Bangladesh was refused to be a member of Chittagong Club since he was native. Immediately, as a gesture of protest, he himself established a club along with a group of people donating his own land of 15,017 sft. At the later stage he was accepted as an honorable member of "Chittagong Club".

After the independence in 1947, eventually this club became the second club for this city and mostly the people who are not interested in typical everyday club environment started gathering at this "Chotta {small} Club" for tranquil, cozy, homely environment.
