Garden City Balıkesir creates a new residential dialogue by harmonizing modern architectural lines with the serene atmosphere of nature. Located in the developing urban texture of Balıkesir, this project is designed not just as a housing complex, but as a living ecosystem that prioritizes human scale and community interaction.
Architectural Concept and Massing The design philosophy rejects the overwhelming verticality of high-rise towers. Instead, it embraces a horizontal, human-centric approach. The blocks are positioned to maximize natural sunlight and ventilation while creating a protected, intimate inner courtyard. The massing strategy involves shifting volumes and protruding balconies, which breaks the monotony of the facade and creates a dynamic rhythm of light and shadow throughout the day.
Materiality and Facade Design The facade character is defined by a clean, minimalistic white palette accented with warm wooden textures. These wooden elements, applied as vertical louvers and balcony claddings, add an organic touch that softens the modern geometry of the buildings. The contrast between the stark white surfaces and natural wood creates a timeless aesthetic that feels both contemporary and inviting. Large glazing areas are utilized to blur the boundaries between the interior living spaces and the exterior landscape, ensuring that every unit benefits from the visual connection to the gardens.
Landscape and Community True to its name, "Garden City," the landscape design plays a pivotal role. The ground level is dedicated to lush greenery, pedestrian pathways, and social areas, minimizing vehicle traffic within the living zone. The entrance gate, designed with a sculptural yet functional approach, serves as a transition point from the busy city life to a tranquil residential sanctuary.
Visualization Approach As Render Atölyesi, our goal in visualizing this project was to capture the "feeling" of living here. We focused on photorealistic lighting to highlight the texture of the materials and the depth of the landscape. The renderings showcase the project at different times of the day, emphasizing the vibrant yet peaceful lifestyle that awaits the residents.
