Residential Building for Mr. Konwar at Morang. Assam:- The design brief given by the owner Mr. N. konwar is to design a novel house for him on the large plot of land he has at Morang, Assam. The site is green and surrounded by low hills He specified that the living, family room and dining should be the heart of the house and around it the bed rooms and study are to be placed. Keeping in mind the requirements of the client and the beautiful green hills, the architects developed the plan of the house with the living, sitting and dining at the core with double height roof over this space and with the bed rooms around this core. Double height of ceiling permitted creation of spaces of different height and volume. Large windows and clear glass cladding established close indoor outdoor relationship. The sloped roof of the house followed the profile of the hills and consequently the house integrated well with the surrounding hills and the green environment.
