Located at the Walpiri Community of Yuendumu, North West of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory, this project design resulted from an extensive community consultation process of which the outcome was a building design reflective of the community needs and aspirations with a grounding in desert principles. The layout of the Pinta Pinta {as named by the Aboriginal community members} or butterfly wings forms the gender segregated areas with a central administration office. Unfortunately, various constraints the project has be unrealised in it`s present form.
