This building design was my architectural thesis. After my dissertation on the Syntactic Component in Architecture, and its application in the `design process`, it was vital that I attempt it in my thesis. It would be an experiment, and hopefully, a demonstration.
This `derivative design` attempted, at all critical decision-making junctures, to establish a set of rules and patterns that would help build a grammar for the building. These rules were often extracted from various contextual elements such as the site context, programmatic context and social context. In certain instances, they were dictated by an `a-priori` established in the beginning of the project.
However, it was a conscious attempt to `objectify` the design process as far as possible. This thesis was an experiment with the process of design itself, besides an experiment with the design of a building.
A few images attached in the building images section attempt at explaining this attempt briefly.
