In terms of composition, the complex was formed around the Arts Square“ – a public space arranged by the model of ancient Greek agoras, which were the forerunners of cultural and public gatherings in contemporary European cities. The square disposition was determined by the existing industrial hall volumes. Akin to stoas that surrounded and formed ancient Greek squares, here the former industrial facilities form a new „artistic agora“. Industrial halls were converted into facilities for visual and drama arts, while the newly designed facilities were derived by their specificities and functions within the remaining part of the complex. Project represents the unity of the artistic campus which, beside educational character, attaches a new dimension to promotion of culture and arts on a larger scale.
