The project phase for Turk Telekom Headquarters Building has started with an invitation to participate to an architectural competition. The brief which was given by Telekom also included some keywords. Words like landmarks, ecological, technological, prestigious, etc.” were important guidelines to set the main design principles.
The former PTT, the new Turk Telekom Buildings, which are known by their colorful façades on Samsun Road were regarded as singular buildings by the inhabitants of the city but a few except the personnel was aware of the fact that these buildings were located in a wide, green campus. The project would be located at a site that would become available after demolishing some existing buildings in this introverted campus site. The initial desire was to reorganize this campus site in the master plan scale before the buildings scale. We aimed to create wide, hard and soft landscape surfaces as well as opening up the introverted perception of the campus to the city. The new building and the transformed campus would turn Aydınlıkevler into a new urban focal point and bring a new identity to a neighborhood which has lost its attraction long ago.
