This funeral hall is located in Nagoya, Japan. The site is located along a busy street with heavy traffic.
The building consists of two blocks which are inspired by grave stones.
The facade is composed of a heavy stone wall which is perforated, filling the entrance hall with thousands of lights. The shadows cast by the wall are forever changing as time goes by. This place is recalls the memory of deceased.
At night, the hall is illuminated with a delicate light display and is filled with shadows and calmness.
